There is a crack in every heart, and through it the light enters. David’s heart bore scratches, like that of any young person who leaves his homeland for the big city. But in Madrid he found his tribe; he created the Davidelfín brand in 2001 together with the Postigo Brothers and Bimba Bosé, and poured his obsessions into his designs: Magritte, Beuys, Bourgeois, psychoanalysis, identity, the dissonant element, illness. The documentary traces a life and career devoted to “loving and working,” as David himself would say, quoting Freud. With fashion as a constant refuge, there are also forays into photography, video, music, and film. The quest is always the same: beauty, delicacy, desire.
Openin Nite
This set of audiovisual pieces was created ad hoc as a visual accompaniment to the collection of the same name, Openin Nite, created by David Delfín. It was presented at the Circuit de Barcelona runway show in 2001, a cradle of avant-garde and independent design in the country. This audiovisual work was directed by Diego Postigo, a key figure in the universe of the Delfín brand.
Premiere in cinemas in Catalonia.
