Tessa and Joris, the designers behind Maison The Faux, seek inclusive and creative ways—performances, guerrilla actions—to make their mark in the speculative fashion industry. They explore one of its major dilemmas: in this art form governed by economics, what is real and what is fake? Their maison, as they say, is built on dreams and hope. Activism, identity, humor, and pop culture references structure a brand in which each garment carries multiple layers of meaning.
