A program featuring major icons and influential figures

In addition to these prominent names represented by Holzemer, the Festival will revisit major icons from the world of fashion such as Brigitte Bardot, in Bardot (2025) by Alain Berliner, a profound look at the French actress just a few months after her passing on December 28. A small tribute that, unlike other biographies, includes Bardot’s own participation and voice from her retirement in La Madrague, as well as contributions from renowned figures such as artist Marina Abramovic, model Naomi Campbell, and designer Stella McCartney, among many others.

Also, Naked Ambition (2023) by Dennis Scholl and Kareem Tabsch offers a striking perspective on the history of pin-up photography through the figure of Bunny Yeager, one of the first women to transition from being in front of the camera (as a model) to behind it, and the photographer who captured the iconic pin-up Bettie Page.

It will also highlight the legacy of major designers, such as Gucci in Gucci: Luxe, Drame et Volupté (2025) by Olivier Nicklaus, a film about one of the most chaotic and tumultuous fashion houses, yet the one that has best reinvented itself after a century of history; or the fascinating and enigmatic figure of the Majorcan designer Miguel Adrover in The Designer Is Dead, directed by Gonzalo Hergueta. The film reconstructs the story of how he arrived in 1990s New York to shake the foundations of fashion, only to “disappear” abruptly from the media map. Adrover was a pioneer in themes that are central today, such as responsible and sustainable fashion, multiculturalism, and critique of the system.

In David Delfín. Muestra tu herida, César Vallejo, Ángela Gallardo, and Rafael Muñoz offer a sensitive portrait of one of the most significant figures in contemporary Spanish fashion, going beyond his role as a designer to present him as a multidisciplinary artist who left a lasting legacy, with testimony from his closest circle, including the Postigo brothers, Alaska, and the family of Bimba Bosé.

The program will also feature a very special screening: Las manos que cosen (2025), a project from the Museo Cristóbal Balenciaga, which recognizes the often-invisible work of haute couture artisans. This documentary archive of six pieces pays tribute to the collaborators of the Balenciaga house in Spain and France, skilled artisans of exquisite craftsmanship and true guardians of the brand. The screening will be presented by Itxaso Díaz, the film’s director, and Igor Uria, project leader and collections director of the Museum.
