‘The Designer is Dead’, by Little Spain, winner of the 10th edition of Moritz Feed Doc

The documentary The Designer is Dead, directed by Gonzalo Hergueta and produced by Little Spain, has won the Best Documentary award at the 10th edition of the Moritz Feed Doc festival.

The film draws an intimate, political and deeply human portrait of the Mallorcan designer Miguel Adrover. Through previously unseen archival materials, close testimonies and a strongly authorial perspective, the documentary reconstructs his rise —when he was considered one of the great promises of international fashion—, his subsequent fall and his gradual distancing from the system.

The Designer is Dead competed in the Official Section alongside the titles: AKRIS: Fashion with a Heritage, by Reiner Holzemer; Gucci: Luxe Drame et Volupté, by Olivier Nicklaus; Bardot, by Alain Berliner; and Lace Relations, by Anette Baldauf, Chioma Onyenwe, Joana Adesuwa Reiterer and Katharina Weingartner.

The award was presented last Saturday, March 21, during the festival’s closing gala held at the Disseny Hub (DHub) Barcelona, in a joint event with the Barcelona City Council.

Designed by the Barcelona-based studio Turbina, the award preserves the festival’s identity with a piece that symbolically merges a handbag and a film reel, now turned into a collector’s item.
